ON, Greater Clark’s weekly video update, highlights district initiatives, events, students, employees and more!
Greater Clark County Schools’ preschool program is present in every elementary school and serves children with special needs and children from low income house-holds that are eligible for the Early Education Matching Funds Grant. There are also a limited number of preschool slots available for other students, with priority given to children who narrowly missed the cut-off age for kindergarten.
In order to be eligible for Greater Clark County Schools’ preschool program, students must be 4 years of age by August 1, 2016. Children who are 5 years of age by that date are eligible for kindergarten. Children must attend the preschool at their home school, transfers will not be granted. The fee for preschool is $150 for the year and parents must provide transportation. Students will attend preschool five days a week for 2 1/2 hours each day. The district will work to accommodate preference for morning or afternoon preschool, but there is no guarantee your child will be placed in the requested session.
If your family qualifies for the Early Education Matching Funds Grant, the preschool fee is waived and transportation will be provided. Click here for more information about the preschool application, the Early Education Matching Funds Grant and how to apply.
