Greater Clark County Schools is excited to announce our partnership with Ford Next Generation Learning! Ford Motor Company’s NGL program is a unique and comprehensive community initiative that brings together educators, employers, and community leaders to implement a proven model for transforming secondary schools, which ultimately improves the regional workforce development system. Ford NGL is currently working with approximately 30 communities throughout the country.
Ford NGL has played a pivotal role in the tremendous success of the model site in Nashville, Tennessee. After two informal meetings with Ford NGL, a meeting was held with school and community leaders in January 2016 where national representatives had a chance to provide an overview of the Ford NGL initiative. Two teams of GCCS representatives also visited Nashville to observe the Ford NGL implementation. In April 2016, Ford NGL’s top coach out of Nashville visited GCCS and toured Charlestown High School and Jeffersonville High School, met with sixty school and community leaders, and finished the day by meeting with Building Leadership Teams from all three high schools.
Joining the Ford NGL network is a tremendous opportunity that will enable Greater Clark County Schools to evolve its successful College and Career Readiness efforts by creating sustainable systems of community engagement and secondary school transformation. A major transformational focus is the development of a career academy model that will increase relevancy for students and better prepare all students for post-secondary opportunities by creating direct pathways to regional colleges and businesses.
