Duke Energy Summer Reading Program

The Duke Energy Foundation is enabling magical moments in 2019 through $448,250 in grants to more than 30 schools and other educational organizations throughout the company’s Indiana service territory. The foundation awarded $15,000 to the district for a summer remedial reading program that will be held at Parkwood Elementary. The program will target at risk second and third grade students who are reading below grade level (not students pictured).

Lisa Brones-Huber, Government and Community Relations Manager with Duke Energy, presented the check yesterday at Parkwood Elementary. She also received a tour of the school from Olivia Rager and Darian Taylor, both fifth grade student ambassadors.
