District Advisories – How Do I Participate?

How does a school district address its numerous obligations and responsibilities in this era of unprecedented accountability? In Greater Clark County Schools, it started with the development of a comprehensive strategic plan, devel-oped by over 90 individuals, including teachers, students, parents, higher education representatives, business leaders and government officials. The committee focused on four areas: Student Achievement, Finance, Facilities and Public Relations/Marketing.

In an effort to promote more engagement and focused attention to goals within each of the initial four areas, the district will transition from four areas of focus to eight. The district’s eight advisories will be: College & Career Readiness, Multicultural, Parent, Numeracy, Literacy, Finance, Facilities and Public Relations/Marketing.
