In December 2011, Thomas Jefferson Elementary was named a Four Star School by the Indiana Department of Education for their superior student achievement in math and English. Thomas Jefferson Elementary is one of 162 schools designated as a Four Star School out of 1,780 eligible public schools. Thomas Jefferson Elementary also received the honor during the 1990-1991 school year.

To be designated a Four Star School, an elementary or middle school must rank in the top quarter of schools for its combined math/English passing percentage on the annual ISTEP+ exam. High schools must rank in the top quarter of all Indiana schools for its combined passing percentage on end-of-course assessments in 10th grade English and first-year algebra. All Four Star Schools also must meet the federal Adequate Yearly Progress standard.

View Breakfast & Lunch Menus

All school cafeterias operate on a computerized lunch system. Students have a lunch account available for their use. Parents may deposit money into their child/children’s account at their convenience and may do so weekly, monthly, or yearly. If you would like restrictions placed on your child/children’s account, please send it in writing to the cafeteria manager at your child/children’s school. For example, if you don’t want your child to purchase a la carte items or breakfast, then the money will be used for lunch only.

If you have questions concerning free and reduced lunch contact Betsy Sumner.

For all other questions please contact Lisa Fackler.
