Building Open to Students
Student Instructional Day
7:45 am to 2:30 pm
All students, parents (guardians), school staff, school corporation officials, and the community must share responsibility and be engaged in the learning process for student academic success.
Positive parental attitudes and involvement improve student success and increase student interest and motivation.
Everyone associated with the school and its programs will be treated with respect at all times.
All students should be provided a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment.
All Jeffersonville High School students can learn and achieve.
The media center is open from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Students must have a blue pass to enter the media center and must sign in and sign out. For access to the media center during study hall and lunch, a student must obtain a pass from the media specialist. Students may check out a maximum of two books for three weeks at a time. Reference materials and newspapers do not circulate; videos are loaned to staff members only. There is no charge for overdue materials, however replacement cost is charged for lost items.
Staff and students may search for materials using the card catalog on any of the computers in the Media Center. The computers are also used for word processing, to conduct Internet research using online resources and student email. Please note, each student must have on file in the media center school a signed copy of the GCCS Internet Acceptable Use Agreement to use any networked computer in Jeffersonville High School.
The JHS student ID serves as the student library card. ID cards can be replaced in the media center for $5.00
If you have questions or need further assistance, please contact our Media Specialist, Mrs. Means.
Your student’s teachers have worked hard to compile a list of books so that your student has choice. The list includes pictures as well as lexile levels (reading levels, please visit www.lexile.com for more information). This list includes fiction, nonfiction and poetry. Please preview the books with your student and help your student choose books they will enjoy and that are appropriate for your student.
If you have questions, please do not hesitate to call or email Ms. Hutchinson: email@example.com or 812-282-6601 ext. 15317.
All school cafeterias operate on a computerized lunch system. Students have a lunch account available for their use. Parents may deposit money into their child/children’s account at their convenience and may do so weekly, monthly, or yearly. If you would like restrictions placed on your child/children’s account, please send it in writing to the cafeteria manager at your child/children’s school. For example, if you don’t want your child to purchase a la carte items or breakfast, then the money will be used for lunch only.
If you have questions concerning free and reduced lunch contact Betsy Sumner.
For all other questions please contact Lisa Fackler.
